Only You

by Sheldon   Aug 30, 2006

I look around thy sacred ground
Things are scattered all around
Such a clutter, such a mess
And here I want it to look its best
How can this place be holy?
How can my belief exist solely?
When I cannot even keep
My worship space nice and neat
How can I believe in what I know?
When friends and family will not let me go
Will not understand my reason for being
When the world upon my shoulders lean
I want to do my best
And forget about the rest
I want to be free from this lateral world
I want to see this false world unfurled
To reveal underneath a place worth living
Safe from the hatred that is so empty of giving
A place without war, without grief, without sin
The world I would rather live in with my own kin
But then what would become of this life?
A place where misfortune is so rife
I am torn between these two ways
I dread the time I have to choose, be it years, months, or even days
There are choices one must make
Between the ones you love and the ones you hate
When the time cometh upon thee
Which will you choose to flee?
The right or the wrong
Be wary of your choice and thinketh thee long
For right is wrong and wrong is right
Only you can shed this knowing light
Only you can succeed
