Summer Slumber

by Serena   Aug 30, 2006

Ease your worries; night is here at last,
Lay beside me on a bed of grass.

Sleep, sleep, long and deep,
Hold no troubles, sigh nor weep.
But sleep I shall not, for a certain fear,
On moonlit beams youll disappear

Summer slumber, on meadow or dale
Under blankets of starlight, silken and pale

Dream, dream, the whole night through,
Of emerald eyes and blossoms of blue.
Yet awake Ill remain, a forsaken waif
Content to watch over and keep you safe.

Breathe the mountain air; let your chest rise as fall,
Just breathe out your pain and I will take it all
