Wolves (Cherokee Legend)

by JL   Aug 30, 2006

In the dark shadows
Two wolves lurk
Snarling and growling
Waiting for fuel
To satisfy their hunger

One feasts on anger,
Envy and jealousy
He feeds on our self-pity,
Greed and lies

The other feasts on love,
Peace and happiness
He feeds on kindness,
Truth and hope

Two wolves circle each other
Trapped in constant battle
Whichever one wins
Is the one you feed

*based on an old Cherokee legend*
