My Smile can lie

You say,
a muted shout, shes finally out
shes whole now; without your doubt
-or was it my own grievance towards her heart
was it wrong of me to hate her
just to watch her fall apart?

a likely sight; no wings for flight
a long way down for her to fall tonight
-is her hope yet dead or can she wait
can I tell her now
that we are all too late?

a regretted mistake, all for the sake
of attempting to make her problems seem fake
-when she smiled it meant that her life was now a better place
or should I have known better
than to believe a pretending face
