Barely...

by Mina   Aug 31, 2006

Barely a woman I have felt the pains of my adult gender...
crawling out of my mother's womb I surveyed this new world that lacked my usual surroundings...
Unprepared but unwavering I unzipped my uterus covering...
Bones weak and fragile, skin moist and tendered by liquid incubation.
I was sweet and helpless prey; appearances are deceiving just as illusions are tricks of the mind.

I lack what is physically typical of a woman, but I am all that "she" stands for, I am all that "she" displays....I am her true definition..
but still barely a woman.
