Kryptonite

by BrokenMisery   Aug 31, 2006

The antique stars are cracking apart with age,
You told me they would always be my guide.

Bracelet links of everything that fell apart,
It's the words that faded in the silence,
The rain still mocks the tears.
The drumbeat fades with the heartbeat.

We knew things couldn't last,
Laughing at the dance of distance,
As the clocks took time
And the storm took life.

Bleeding romance from hazel eyes
Using fingertips to draw the story,
The treason hidden behind your mask
Burnt you in the puddle of mistakes.

The hearts of misery, spotted with disease.
The piano's melody screams.
As the photographs fade away,
The bitter sweet touch of loss.

My antique heart is cracking apart with age,
You told me you would always be my guide.

Well, I don't think that I can think of any other word to say to this poem but wow. And wow, would simply not sum this up to all that it is worth. This poem was amazing. I loved it. Your word choice was great, the flow was perfect and the imagery was captivating. Keep up the good work. 5/5 =]
