Sunset

Flailing shadows smothering all
As dying sun does finally fall
The world shifts, falls apart
As it's last rays truly depart

Again in realms of fear and pain
Thought is trapped, once again
Behind walls of doubt and remorse
Darkness descends with all its force

Sight is lost but hurt remains
Mind and soul buried in chains
Of vanished hope, chances passed
As life fades out, dead at last
