Friend or foe?

by Wings Of Flames   Sep 1, 2006

Tones and colours of my bounty,
The headless hunters ride,
Along the paths of rock and stone,
In jeopardy we'll hide,

This is the time we feed our souls,
When our bodies lack the dark,
Mustangs underneath our hide,
Until we reach the thirstâ??s embark,

Entwined in the biscuit sand,
When the fall cuts the glass,
When the green on the other side,
Was never really grass,

While our beasts die in the night,
Our hearts are slaughtered too,
We stray the path into the trees,
While I search for me and you,

Spirits call our names,
And tell of stories tall,
I forget the start and the middle,
But in the end I am to fall,

We reach our destination,
The beauty I had not forgotten,
I take a bite from the fruit,
But sweet has turned to rotten,

In the end of this sadness,
I remember one last day,
Taken for granted every time,
Until for her my life to slay,

A gun was held to her head,
And I jumped to pay the price,
It burned inside my darkened heart,
I was the bounty, then sacrifice.
