Sandcastles

by Jemma   Sep 1, 2006

Building it up from the earth
Flags flying wild
A gateway to a haven

A place I can dream
And stand and scan the world
Azure seas
Skies of grey
Pearlescent mists
The dawn of day

A place I can hide
A place to be unseen
To run away, keep them at bay
Begging me to stay

I have found a place to call my own

And it’s just a dream
Cannot stand in sandcastles
Cannot build my home
Each and everyday
The sea washes my dream away

Oh, this is beautiful. The land of make-believe is a truly wonderful place, and I love the way you use your sandcastles as a metaphor.. Very well done. xx
