The High, Outside Wall.

by Jenni Marie   Sep 2, 2006

A girl who was once whole
and had her mind set on her goals.
She knew what she wanted to do with her life
and she had no strife.

But her life started to fall apart
and she ended up with a shattered heart.
Tears roll freely down her cheeks
every day she seems to weep.

Things that went wrong
she tries her hardest to repair
things that went wrong
feel like a horrid nightmare.

Death, confusion and heartbreak
her smiles are oh so fake
Murder, eating problems and self harm
when she thinks of her problems she can hardly stay calm.

She keeps trying to fight
and trying to do what is right.
But every time she tries to move on with her life
someone comes along and pulls her back into strife.

She doesn't know how much more she can take
she feels she is trapped in a nightmare and unable to wake.

Her friends don't know how broken she feels
they don't know how intense her pain is, how real.
They don't know anything is wrong,
and they don't know her heart is empty,
that it doesn't sing,
because it has no song.

Every time she dares to be optimistic,
something knocks her down
and every time she has another try
most times the tears come and she will cry.

She doesn't want to give up or give in
but most of the time she doesn't feel that she can win.
And she knows that one day will come,
and she'll find not enough battles have been won.

And she'll let herself off the high, outside wall,
hoping God will embrace her at the end of her fall.
