Find Yourself

by Pondering Thoughts Of Nothing   Sep 2, 2006

I sit and smile,
and dismiss things as fine,
and wear an expression so painfully fake that no one notices it.
Inside I am so helpless.
I'm dying with each lying grin.
Its like you've left me here, and all of the sudden just can't understand me.
And no everything is not OK.
Its on the verge of ending.
Its unavoidable.
This is the beginning of the end.
To be so young,
And already say that all those years were lies
when you were at such a tender age that you couldn't understand things like these.
So all those years you are saying you were a living, breathing, walking lie?
All those laughs we shared.
All the jokes.
All the intimate secrets.
It was all a hoax?
I refuse to believe it.
Somewhere deep in the folds, within the fine print, you are there.
So take some time to discover yourself.
And quit caring about what those
Barbie dolls think you are.
Quit saying hurtful things that aren't true.
Quit acting, because in my eyes you are acting a fool.
Quit being a fake, there are enough in this world.
You are a good person.
You were born an original, so why become a duplicate?

Deny it all you want,
but I know who you really are,
or at least,
once were.
