Drinking

Mommy Why Is It
That Drink So Much For
I Really Wish That You
Wouldn't Do It Anymore

It Makes You Say
So Many Hurtful Things
Why Cant You See
All The Pain It Brings

You Drink All The Time
Practically Almost Everyday
You Say The Alcohol
Makes Your Sadness Go Away

But Really It Only
Brings On More Pain
And Yet You Do It
Ove And Over Again

Don't You Care
About Your Family
Maybe If You Opened Your Eyes
Then You Would See

Mommy Don't You Know
I Love You With All My Heart
But All You Are Doing
Is Tearing Us Apart

Do You Do It
Because Of Me
Because If You Do
I Am Really Sorry

I Just Wish
That I Knew Why
You Have To Drink So Much
And Make Me Cry

For Now I Will Just
Sit Here And Pray
That Maybe You Will Stop
Your Drinking Someday

Wow!!! I love this poem too!!! I know how it is to have an alcholic parent...my father was an alcholic. Actually my mom was as well. My mom never hurt me, but I still hated it. She's not doing it now. My father would hurt me..and my mom. He stopped as well...although, he died 3 months ago. Anyways, I know that feeling and it hurts so very much. You did a wonderful job at expressing that sadness and pain! Wonderful poem!
