The Point

by Triumph   Sep 4, 2006

It was our secret,
the thing no one could know,
it was a unwritten rule,
but clearly there in stow.
We kept to ourselves,
meeting every other day,
we never spoke if we passed by,
what was there to say?

We didn't tell anyone,
about what we did,
the feelings that we coveted,
the feelings that we hid.
In darkness is how our relationship will stay.
how were we to expect;
that it all would change the very next day?

Thats when the questions started,
everyone must have known.
My partner ran from them; us,
leaving me alone.

My parents had heard rumors,
from the other adults,
they began to corner me;
harassing me with insults.
Like how dare I turn my back on them,
they were the reason I was born,
as their voices hypnotized me,
my heart began to fill with scorn.

I shouldn't have done it,
I knew it was wrong,
but as the distance between us lingers,
my heart sings a song:

I feel as though my heart is shattered,
my love for you; however scattered,
will never lose its shade of light.
As we drift away in the night,
I will remember you,
always and forever,
don't fight the pain;
or it wont sever.

Things are meant the way they are, do not look back upon your past or you will never return.
