The pictures lay scattered on the floor
Torn off my walls and fallen by my door
I looked at one, and with his great big smile he
Sat there smiling, waving at me
I remember that day, and what a day it was
I remember that day and just because
We went go carting and he had so much fun
And he and my dad almost won

I picked up the next and what did I see
Another cute boy looking at me
But this time it wasnâ??t by the go carting place
Cuz I saw me and Deston by his gorgeous face
With a rake in his hand and a sparkle in his eye
We raked the whole yard, front, back, and side
And still to this day, Iâ??ll still remember
Him jumping in the leaves in the middle of September

The next one I saw he was curled up in bed
Laying with Lexi and thatâ??s when he said
â??Iâ??m okay, Iâ??m gonna be alright
Cuz I saw an angel over there last nightâ??
I looked where he pointed and then I smiled
Cuz all through these hard times and all this while
I knew he was watched and I knew he was cared for
And I knew he was loved by someone so much more

And now these pictures donâ??t lie on the floor
Theyâ??re taped back to my walls and by my door
Though I still cry, though I still mourn
And how sometimes itâ??s like my heartâ??s been torn
I can still smile and I can still joke
