Icehouse

by Wings Of Flames   Sep 4, 2006

Frozen beneath the crust,
Where the ice lies so thick,
Encrusted in no empathy,
Where ignorance is so sick,

Blue lips upon pastel white,
Hands clawing at the surface,
Axes shatter every dream,
With each blow upon her purpose,

The ice gliding across her skin,
Slicing wounds into her eyes,
Blood drips into the cold,
This death is no surprise,

Her blood-shot eyes plead to leave,
As the bubbles can't escape,
No hope for this injustice,
With the school girls chance of rape,

Her body quivers to a halt,
As her lungs fill with the ice,
The bloody murky sufferer,
Her skin but tattered slice,

Strength is never enough today,
Just qualities to ease the pain,
When all you see is empty faces,
And frozen shards of rain.

This is the poem that put you on my faves list. Absolutely brilliant. Great poem. Can't think of one thing that I would change or find fault with. If you hadn't entered my poetry contest I would never have found you. Thank you so much for this. I love dark poetry and this has left me speechless.
