Never to let you go

by darkness   Sep 5, 2006

He's lying alone, eyes in a maze
his life a map of confusion, his world like a daze

he holds his head up and fights back the tears
The words I don't love you goes throe his ears

he holds his hands and hangs his head
Is my life over or am I already dead?

A rich man has taken her heart
she wanted riches instead of his love

he hears their child crying he knows what to do
From now on kid, it's just me and you

Two years later while walking the street
A beautiful young women he did happen to meet

He looked in her eye and stopped in confusion
Was this lady real, or just another illusion?

He asked for a date right there on the street
She glanced at her shoes and said what time will we meet?

Six months later and a small engagement band
That man got down on his knees and asked for her hand

That woman smiled
One year later she walked the aisle in a white dress

Happiness was found that day on the street
With that beautiful stranger he happened to meet

Together they live in a small little town
Embracing the love they both had found

Now, forty years later and I love you still
He held that woman's hand saying although you are leaving, I'll never let you go ill carry you on and ill let it show...

I think this sounded like a child's poem. Not to sound rude or anything. I do think young love is cute, don't take this the wrong way, but you could've used different rhymes, add a little more emotion here and there, and possibly you could work on your grammar...It's not all that great. =) 4/5 xoxo
