Just Three Little Words

Just three little words from you
Are what I like to hear everyday.
They're simple, yet complex.
"I love you" can be said when someone means it
And when someone doesn't.
I know that when you say it
You mean it.
And, darling, when I say it-
Of course I mean it!

"I love you."
I say it to you everyday
And everyday, I mean it more and more.
If love were a game
We would win at it.
If love were a song
We would sing it without our voice faltering.
If love were a movie
We'd star in it, and everyone would be
Happy
Sad
Angry
And forgiving
When, on the screen, we're
Happy
Sad
Angry
And forgiving.
Our emotions would be so strong
That the audience to our life couldn't help but feel them too.

Everyday, I look forward to
Falling asleep in your arms
Giving and receiving that "good morning" kiss
And that "good night" kiss too.
And hearing that one final
"I love you"
Right before I fall asleep...
...of course, I dream of you.
