Walking Alone

by Sarah   Sep 6, 2006

I was at this party,
I've only just left,
I was walking with my friends,
As we thought that was best.
I'm walking down the road,
I'm all on my own,
I've just dropped off the last friend,
I shouldn't really moan.
I chose to walk the long way,
I chose to walk alone,
I chose to be the last out,
I chose to be on my own.
If only I'd walked the quick way,
It wouldn't of been me,
Dragged off to the alley,
Where I couldn't see.
He told me to give him my money,
I told him I'd spent it all,
He didn't believe me,
And forced me to fall.
He pulled a knife from his pocket,
He forced it to my throat,
I begged him for his merci,
As I showed him your note.
He read it to himself,
He wondered why I'd shown it,
He threw it on the ground,
And said he couldn't quit.
He'd come this far,
I'd seen his face,
He had to end it now,
He had to finish the race.
I wish I hadn't walked alone,
I wish I'd gone the quick way,
I wish he could be forgiven,
I wish it was the day.
He searched my purse,
For one last hope,
He saw I was telling the truth,
He just couldn't cope.
He hit me hard,
With the knife,
Into my stomach,
He chose to take my life.
I was the one to walk alone,
I heard his sweet voice,
Please forgive him everyone,
I didn't give him a choice.
