Games

by Ellie   Sep 7, 2006

She gambles with life
like its a game.
so turn around and count to ten,
lets see how fast time goes.

lay her head on the pillow
to sleep off the pills
that failed her once again
sweet dreams, sweetheart.

drain her bloodsoaked bath water
and gather your needle and thread.
stitch up her wounds
she is your little ragdoll once again

untie the noose
and carry her body past the porch-swing
bury her soul in your heart
and her body in the yard.

she gambled with death
like its a game
so keep the dice clenched in your hand
she has already won.

Wow. That is the single most powerful poem I have ever read. I think a lot of people can relate to that because suicide is such a big part of society, and I think you really described both sides very well. 5/5, lovely job.
