Life of Lies

by {Miss} [A][L][L][I][S][O][N]   Sep 8, 2006

Well of course we could lie
In whispered voices say "I'm fine"
But it's not like it hasn't crossed our minds
That maybe we're not alright this time.

What good are smiles when they're fake?
Stuck plastered to faces by the glue of mistake
And get us out we're ready to break
This nightmare continues-
We're awake.

Eyes wide with terror- we're not okay
Blinded by darkness that swallowed today
And we had hope until the skies turned gray
Our jaws clenched tight, words forgot what to say.

We're not gonna find it so why bother look?
Locked away in cells for the love we took
And inside us water boils as good intentions cook
No one held our hands steady as the loneliness shook.

Unwrap us until you can find a soul
This life of lies has taken it's toll
And forgive us for the love we stole
Attention- Our only goal.

And why lie?
When we've never known the meaning of fine?
Because this life belonged to lies
When good intention crossed the line.
