Ghosts at my bedside

by Nici   Sep 8, 2006

As the answer phone plays
She sings me to sleep,
No-ones at home right now please leave a message after the beep.
Standing at my bed
Remembering how she tucked me in at night
Leaving on that landing light
That bulbs now blown
And I'm left all alone
As you sing a silent lullaby instead
Tears like ink drops in fresh water
I lost a friend but she lost a daughter
Sunny skies turn to pain
And I see your face through my rain
See your smile once again
Butterflies sent from heaven
And ill always remember

Ghosts at my bedside
Sing me to sleep
Of family of friends and of lovers that left
A silent lullaby sends me to sleep
With me always your memories Ill keep
A silent lullaby keeps me alive
With memories of you by my side
And I know in heaven well meet
