Me

by Katie   Sep 8, 2006

Who am I? What am I?
What am I doing?
Where am I going?
What am I looking for?
What do I want to be?
Who do I want to be?

Who do they think I am?
What do they think I am?
Where do they think I'm going?
Where do they want me to go?
Where to they want me to be?
What do they want from me?

I am me, not perfect but whole,
With a mind, a heart and a soul,
Fragile as glass, but strong as stone,
With the will to live, on my own.

They are them, far from perfect too,
But with feelings far from true.
They live a life not their own, An image projected from being alone.

Who is going to profit from their fear?
Who is going to listen to what they hear?
Who is going to grow, through time,
Who is going to escape this rhyme?

I am me, a real person,
Just me, who I want to be.
And they are a fake,
A life to live, a story to tell,
But never happy or at peace.

I am where I want to be,
living my life, I am me!
