A Wake Up Call

by Dakota Nessmith   Sep 9, 2006

She woke up one morning
with her mind full of thoughts
for it was her mind and her heart
this battle that was being fought.

She walked to the bathroom to dry her hair,
as part of her everyday routine,
but as she looked in the mirror and took a long glance,
there seemed to be something missing, something unseen.

She had been to the parties,
even had lots of fun,
but her heart wasn't happy
for all the things she'd done.

This life she was living,
it just wasn't her,
If she wanted to be happy again,
she was going to have to change, that's for sure.

With lots of prayer,
And God on her side,
her heart will prove stronger in the end,
so her soul and conscience would no longer collide.
