Northern Belle

by Marissa Cabot   Sep 10, 2006

If I took your hand
Would you recall the feeling,
Or has it been too long?
Have you forgotten?

I wouldn't blame you
It's been... what?
A lifetime now
Since we've been anything
And I guess we're strangers now

Different people
We have changed
For the better?
Forgiveness, I'd ask for it
But not expect much back

I've taken your heart
Torn it to shreds
And left it on the floor
Stomped on the pieces while still beating
Collected all the bits and threw them to the wind
Sounds poetic, but it's true
That and more I've put you through
Forgiveness or a "Hello,"
Would mean the world to me
