Gone

Against the pelting of a summer rain
Nothing can quell my darkest pain
Each pitter-pattering of droplets clear
Constantly reminiscent those times with her

Of crystalline stars that shine at night
A full moon illuminating bright
I can still recall that faithful moment
It being worse than any lesson learnt

She stood by the veranda, her hair cascaded
Like spring's waterfalls with maroon tinge
Staring into oblivion with thoughts so faded
She turned and smiled while swiping her fringe

Her drop-dead smile with dimples deep
Even the stone hearted would crumble and weep
Playful emerald eyes that gleam with green
Those fine, narrow brows slightly arched with keen

Wispy locks that brush across her gaze
The Northern Gale breezes past her naked embrace
Nimble fingers twirling an unindeedose
Spectral ebony thriving on sorrow and woes

Pursing her luscious lips, a silent inhale
She heaves a long, tired sigh so frail
Grotesque thorns crimson her pale arm deep
Un-curdled blood flow as she begins to weep

Tears roll down her rosemary cheeks
Like a hardened man having his desires found
Snow begins to fall on the half-frozen creek
As frosted teardrops shatter upon hitting the ground

I go forth after a startled pause
My mind flurried, so wild and lost
As I ran I remember seeing it die
Tainted petals disappearing into the sky

She clasp her tiny palms together Her head bowed, a hushed prayer The words that came were like a poisonous vial As she proclaimed a painful denial

"Always before, you'd explain Why the darkness was always disdain Or how the Sun embraced the earth When Spring came like a seasonal birth"

"Always before so careless and free You'd spread your wings just for me Sheltering from heavy sleet and stone Never have you once left me alone"

"But as day would make way for night When the end always follows after a start
My love for you has ceased and died
No longer do you have a place in my heart"

With that my one true love fell into the abyss
Falling into the cliffs of the meandering mist
I screamed my heart out but it wasn't to be
She had left for the Void while denying me
