If Only I Could Live

by Jemma   Sep 10, 2006

Drifting away
No longer hearing the words that you say
Losing my grip
No matter where I go I slip
Need something to believe
Can't get away from the lies we weave
Need one person to say they forgive
And then perhaps I can live
Oh, if only I could live

Driving down the dusty roads
Each of us carrying the same heavy loads
Fighting to keep from falling
Trying to sense you calling
Something has to change
Something has to give
Oh, if only I could live

You can't dream away life
Stuck
Running low on luck
Wasting away
Waiting for a better day

Want to see you
You can make my day
Show me the difference
Between night and day
Stop me, save me
I'll let you lead the way
Waiting for this better day

You can't dream away life
Something has to give
Oh, if only I could live

**ok. I found this hard to place. settled for desired love but as usual i don't think it's quite right.'

I really like this! Each line is pretty short, but it fits for this poem! It would probably make a great song, too. Keep writing, and take care
