Shadows Need to Get More Credit

by Thoughtless Consideration   Sep 10, 2006

Have you ever felt sorry for the moon?
I sure have.

I mean, it sheds the purest white light,
It silences our fears in the dead of the night.

It smiles and calms down the stars,
It automatically slows down all the speeding cars.

It sings a lullaby to crying babies,
It sends sleep to us to soothe all the battleing "maybes."

It allows just enough light to walk down a park path,
Yet the light is without the sun's sweaty wrath.

It whispers hushing advice to teens lying in their beds, crying at night.
It chases away all fright.

Yet, what do people say about it's white light?
They say it comes from the sun,
And that the sun is the real fun.
So the moon is really nothing but a shadow,
Yet I firmly believe it is a shadow
With the most
Luminous,
Wondrous glow.
