From a Distance

The tale of a young man
his eyes opened like new
at the dropping to of his knees
and the opening of his stale heart.

Excited and overjoyed at his new sight,
he shared with everyone he met.
His parents weren't as excited,
and the young man was easily discouraged.

Sin was easier
with encouragement lacking.
A depression so deep,
it ate his soul.

Darker clothes fit better
with an attitude to match,
and his new sight was lost
as he was deceived with old wool.

The tale of a young woman
raised right with eyes reopened
with maturity and comprehension
that comes with years and seasons passed.

The tale of an almighty God,
the only one...
who wrote the tales of these young ones
to include the crossing of their paths.

She is meant to know him.
He is meant to know her.
She is to show him he's lost.
He is meant to restore her faith and hope.

She will not give up.
He doesn't know he's on a mission.
She will not give up.
He thinks he's more hard-headed than she.
She will not give up.
