I Want To Know What It's Like

I want to know what its like
To really be happy
I want to know what its like
To love someone
And actually have them love you back
I want to know
Just how it feels
To be who I am, to be real
I want to take off this mask
And I don't want anyone to ask
Why am I acting this way
And please don't say
That you liked me better
When I was who I used to be
Because thats not the real me
But you never could see
The pain within my eyes
You never could realize
What you were doing to me
You could never even know
No matter how hard I tried to let it show
I just want to know what its like
To live my life
My way and not yours
