Live

by Wings Of Flames   Sep 11, 2006

Rays of a thousand summers,
Replaced by eternal ice,
Flowers of brightest colour,
Now frosted sacrifice,

Sunny days turned to grey,
As the slate of warmth is dead,
Lives are spared just this once,
From the hanging needle thread,

Days are cold through the sun,
Yet the nights are even worse,
Even the most perfect world,
Could never rid this curse,

Through the snow upon the ground,
A sappling reaches through,
A life so fragile yet so tough,
Shows the world just what to do,

Never give in to the cold,
Don't let the wind push you down,
Even in the blizzard's strength,
Replace your golden crown,

Sing until the flowers bloom,
And everything is right,
Don't cry in the dark,
Let your dreams show you the light.

A good poem and an even better message. I liked the way you wrote in this poem...it was less abstract. Anyway, good work love.

P.S. I hope you know that it was one of your comments that made me stop writing. On 'Life in the Capital' you wrote that something was lacking in my poems. That then caused me to have an even bigger complex about my writing...and so I couldn't write for months. But don't let that stop you telling the truth. The truth is much better than the lie...in the way of poems, lol.
