I tip toed up the stairs one night
And saw you sitting by the light
Well turn it on I said to you

I rushed to the cupboard to get my torch
But found the batteries dead on course
With a box of matches on my dresser
I saw a candle, things couldn't get better

I struck a match but it went out
Hell of a draught was there about
So shutting the window as quick as I could
I got a splinter from the bloody wood

I sucked and nibbled without success
Have you got some tweezers dear I said?
