Twenty Four

by Sarah   Sep 11, 2006

Twenty Four years old,
Not ever a year more
I will age with this life
You'll never get to see what life has in store

Twenty Four years young
You'd be a year older today
I could have baked your birthday cake
If only you just would have stayed

Twenty Four years this earth blessed
With your uniqueness, beauty and grace
This world got that much colder
When you disembodied this place

Twenty Four years alive
Nine of which you were in my life
and although we were never married
I felt we were husband and wife

Twenty Four years from now
I will look back and miss your sweet smile
And I know memories will age with me
But Ill still be thinking of you all the while
