A True Perspective

by Layla   Sep 11, 2006

Father, will you ever stop yelling?
Will you ever truly understand my mind?
Will you save me if I appear to need it?
Will you make me a promise to support me?
Will you listen to this fully?

Mother, Will you ever stop lying?
Will you ever truly fix yourself?
Is there something you'd like to tell me?
Is there something wrong with your head?
Is there something wrong with me?

Trapped in a sea of uncertainties
Making no promise as to how things can turn out
Falling deep into darkness unknown
Doubting every move you make and thoughts in your mind

Friends, Will you be there for me?
Will you listen to my concerns and my grievances?
Will you offer an arm of consolation?
Will you do the same for others?
Would you understand if I cried?

Strangers, Will you support your fellows?
Offer a hand for those on the ground?
Fill in the gaps in your own very soul?
Tell the world that you will?
Will you ask for help from the rest?

Myself, of course, will you cry?
Will you ask questions to others?
Will you stay away from trends?
Will you stay true?
Will you not become your parents?

Asking the eternal questions, people should know
The person who is next to you needs help as much as you.
They might not ask, so you ask them,
Can I be a friend?
