Masquerade Monologue

by Salinity   Sep 12, 2006

Now this life unfolds in estrangement

cities, towns, time zones, flights, goodbyes

Emptiness better earned

through duties I couldn't demote, not a slight.

Until now, arid atrium's in drought
another day late
too early to betray hope
too late to remain salvageable
Now I've time
loneliness mine
Now I can claim a life
that was never quite
mine

You were my only origin
an emotion to define this life
once again I falter
in a race of question marks
Who am I ?
Where am I ?
What's today ?
And what's tomorrow ?
