Sad Heart

by RicaLo   Mar 11, 2004

Once there was a girl who was all alone
no one to turn to, no friend to call her own.
Her parents had died, and she was soon to follow.
There was no one around to help diminish the sorrow.
Then one sunny day a boy passed her by
Little did she know that she had caught his eye.
The boy turned around and said his name was Hank;
She knew she had no one but God to thank.
A few weeks later, Hank bought her a gift
a priceless friendship ring, hoping her spirits it would lift.
Engraved inside were words simple but true
The words beautifully written:"You're my queen, and I love you."
As he was on his way to mend her broken heart
Someone heartless was preparing to tear them apart.
A mugger attacked and stabbed him five times
As the jerk stole the ring, Hank closed his eyes and died.
When the girl got the news, she bowed her head
Her heart crushed and destroyed, she fell down dead.
She died of loneliness because the only friend she had
Was brutally murdered, and she died of a heart so sad.
