Painful Love

by Hanna   Sep 13, 2006

I can't stop this heart from beating,
i can't draw away its pain;
i want to hold on to its desires,
but its driving me insane.

call for the rain to fall,
let us watch the dam break;
i want to drown into his love,
and melt away the ache;

there is nothing to hold on to no more,
swept away am i with one glance;
to look away or to think again,
i was never given a chance.

so i keep on trying to stop this,
this heart which continues to go;
the blood burns full of desire,
and i cannot stop its flow.

i let it scald inside of me,
i let the pain settle in;
to get the chance to see you again
will leave me scarred and thin;

but do you feel the pain as well,
the blood burning on this thought;
does your heart continue to beat,
whenever in me you get caught.

if so, then love can hurt,
love can twist my life and laugh;
because your pain for my love is a remedy,
when pain is shared and cut in half.
