Tainted Champagne.

-Tainted Champagne.-

The clock strikes midnight, as he walks through the door,
Sets his briefcase down as he creeps across the floor.
The table is set with a bundle of roses in the middle,
And set upon the card was a tiny riddle:

"You fooled me once, and I let it slide,
You fooled me twice, and lost your pride.
Shame on you, shame on me,
For ever thinking, we could be."

He set the roses down beside the bucket of ice,
As she whispered in his ear to entice.
He turned to stare the devil in the eyes,
As through his mind, ran all of his lies.

A bloody dagger shoved through her heart,
As she slowly tore herself apart.
Blood dripped down through the seams,
As her cold hand trapped his silent screams.

A bullet with his name, bursting through his head,
As she bit her tongue from things she never said.
The night went on, as ice flowed through her veins,
Enlacing his body with tainted champagne.

Oh wow.. I really liked this. It's so creepy! Not what I had in mind ((For this is the title I wanted for the contest, Hmph!)) But it was amazingly written...Brilliant.
