Honor-Bound

by LadyPearl   Sep 14, 2006

Thou God cast and bend me hard
Adorn me with unbreaking will
Set me aside to test my strength
Watch my footprints in plain thrill

My Coat of Arms symbol honor and pride
Bounding every task amongst my soul
Unable to break from pain-staking time
I struggle in humility to gain control

Pressure bearing upon my shoulders
As tremors and flashes fall unto my brain
Every"quiting" notion haunts my pale dreams
Blurring every answer in unwanting pain

My strength and pride yields agony
Allowing torture to inscribe on me
Showing discomforts of losing my skills
Forcing the truth so I may agree

I've tried to call it quits and that it's over
But disappointment interlopes in every way
So Still I tread this descending path
Staring as my bleak breaking soul decay

Excellent poem! I could relate to this one very well, I like you have so much burden on my shoulder, but still I refuse to quit. It is a good thing, it makes us winners in a way. I love your determination. Wonderful write, keep it up!
