A seed must first be planted
before it grows
and yet that is not all it needs
There is much care and tending
to be done before you see
any growth,
it may be days or even weeks before you see the first leaf
and yet that is not all it needs
Shelter and protection from storms
care and patients for it to grow big and strong
and yet that is not all it needs
Watering and feeding help it grow,
but if neglected it will die,
for growth is ongoing and needs constant care.
Growth you see needs all of these.
