Black October

by +Purple Sky+   Sep 14, 2006

On a perfectly normal sunny day
As I sleepily ate my cereal
I was unaware of the drama at play
Which the deafening shrieks would soon reveal

I jolted immediately out of my seat
Scared to death of what I'd behold
I ran down the yard in my bare feet
The horror I saw struck me frozen so cold

His screams dripped with anguish he tried to suppress
The pain his body felt brought as much to my own
Ripping into my heart as I watched feeling helpless
I dropped to my knees, trembling as I stroked him

Three days later after the bravest of fights
He had bore so much torture it cost him his will
In hopeful suspense we moped and we waited
But soon the call came...he forever lay still.
