Transient

by Twisted Heart   Sep 14, 2006

With tainted memories, inside her mind
She walks upon the ashen streets
Twisted words in anger's time
She gives her feet the will to flee.

Harsh words now entrap her flight
And leaves her there to grieve
As heartbreak consumes her sight
And drives her soul to insanity.

Just words that held her heart intact
But now have lost their way
Among the lies that now impact
Her sanity's decay.

She raises fists up to the moon
Condemning it for her fate
Now harnessed hopes that twist and bind
And lingers there to wait.

She was a soul once loved by him
Her heart was open wide
But now the bonds that were her stem
Got lost somewhere inside.

No anchor found to steady her
Upon the sea of life
So she's sent to drift among
The other souls that's lost tonight.
