Free from judgement

by heart broken   Sep 15, 2006

We should not be put down by the color of our skin
or by the path our shoes tend to walk in

my face is my own my heart is on my sleeve
but I'm a face in the crowd wanting to be free

my eyes are hazel and my skin is white
but that doesn't mean i wanna fight

people are judged by what they wear
and to tell you the truth I DON'T CARE

I'm my own person i cant be classified
I'm not a person you know so how is it that people look disgusted as they past by

my hair is brown with highlights running swiftly through
but that doesn't mean you can judge me .. i don't judge you

yes i have been known to judge before
but how is it that I'm called a hore

there are girls at my school who sleep around
and yet I'm looked upon with a messed up frown

my fears are my own just like my soul
so how is it that i have to be told

be told what to wear to school everyday
where all these people define me as i pass their way

i look up and i don't ever look back
people can judge me and thats a fact

its not that they pay attention its just as they do
the people who are like me don't care about you

i don't care if judge you aren't my friend
but i will treat you with respect because we're all equal in the end

you may not agree with me here in this poem
but if judge me by my writing to me you are no one

we should not be put down by the color of our skin
or by the path our shoes tend to walk in

my face is my own my heart is on my sleeve
but I'm a face in the crowd wanting to be free
