Winter

by Stazifer Stazington   Sep 15, 2006

Winter, frigid air
cold, pretty

are the trees dead?
or are they sleeping...
i always wonder

flowers sparkle in the wind
their petals so cold
they could freeze the warmest hearts

kids fighting with snowballs
angering moms and dads
when they spill cocoa
on the floor
next to puddles
on the linoleum

darker days bring depressed
souls
their flames, like candles
burn out

but

in my poufy coat and uggs
i never felt more
alive
