a word dropped with a careless gesture
that it has ceased to mean a thing

a word given as balm to a wound
that was inflicted, without remorse

a word that once stood for something
that i have greatly believed in

falsely taken, falsely given

pretended? or never intended?
it does not matter, for it cannot alter

anything you see, or hear or feel
peace is a word, its just a word
