The Ring

by steelpricess   Sep 15, 2006

Your shoulders like
mountains, my hand slowly caresses.
Traveling down your back, you
turn me around.
Face-to-face
we kiss again and
think of the days to come.
I see something glint
in the morning light. Then
out it comes.
The ring.
You asked me to spend the rest
of my life with you
and I accepted.
Now I stand here with
a ring on my finger,
a wedding dress,
a smile, and
a knife.
As I stand in the doorway,
I look on at the two bodies and
ask why.
Why did you cheat, what
did I do wrong? Now
instead of being together,
I go to jail
while you and your lover
go in the ground.
