Midnight Dream

by Kate Kayuda   Sep 15, 2006

The half asleep city
Opens up one eye to see
If I had gone yet.

Am I asleep or just lost?
Captured between the sheets,
Struggling to find freedom
But the foreign definition
Hasnt been found.

The desire to smash up
The building opposite my doorstep
Has been forgiven.

The same old hidden desire
To answer to just one simple,
Powerless call has been forgiven.

I am drowning in...
No...wait! You are...
I am drowning in your tears.

Your bitter, huge lake of tears.
The ones that crawl back up
Seem to be the strangest.

One song has changed
Every day speaking manner.
The behaviobehaviorm to share
Has been eaten by your hungry lies.

What are they hungry for?
Stop eating! Stop eating the truth,
My life and the real world out there!

I wish to live in a half honest society
In order to have one half of madness left
To entertain the sleeping city
Waiting to see a master piece.
