The Greatest Sorrow

by Mitch   Sep 15, 2006

The greatest sorrow I've ever felt,
Is that of the road that was never traveled.

Why can I not walk down that road,
I feel so tempted to navigate?
How can I live with the "what ifs"
And never knows if I procrastinate?

I swore I would not let myself fall
Into this no win circumstance.
But how can I not help myself
And not risk taking that chance?

Love can span any distance,
My heart breaking now is evidence.
It can be the flame that lights the way,
In this shadow of decadence.

To have not is to want,
Is that such a horrible crime?
When all my dreams, all my hopes,
For once, seem so alive?

You have given rebirth to my life,
You have shown me what's there.
Behind all the fakeness of this world,
Hiding is a miracle waiting to bare.
