In your arms

by steelpricess   Sep 16, 2006

You were late last night.
Maybe it was the weather.
Maybe it was a meeting.
I hold you in my arms
happy to see you,
but I know better than that.
I can still smell her
and I didn't tell you,
but yesterday,
I found her make-up
on your shirt.
I used to trust you,
but now
I can't even touch you.
I run to the bathroom
as I think of where
you have been and
as I look back
at our bed
I don't just see you,
I also see her.
As I head to the kitchen
my choice is already made.
As I enter the room
and lay back down next
to you I put the knife back down
And as the blood flows
from my wrists
I cuddle up
in your arms.
