I'm not Sorry

by Shelby Smith   Sep 16, 2006

Looking out
Beyond the horizon,
My only escape,
I try to imagine
A normal life

Yet its far beyond my minds grasp
Far beyond reality

For in this world
That just keeps turning
Normal doesnt exist.

So just leave me alone
You cant change me
Im sorry that Im not perfect

The path lies out before me
I know youve been down it before
I see the footsteps on the ground
But wouldnt it make you happy
If I took the one less traveled by?

Now we understand
Why you say we can be more
Because weve lived
and seen your mistakes

But youve made life so confusing
When we live behind these lies
Do something new
And tell me truth

The path lies before me
Youve been here before
But wouldnâ??t it make you proud
If I took the one less traveled by?

Ive heard so many things
Not meant for a childs ears
But the truth was never part of that
So once again tell me a lie

Tell me everything will be just fine
Tell me that youre proud
Tell me you can make everything alright
Maybe Ill believe you.

But if I dont
Just leave me alone
You cant change me
Im not sorry I cant be perfect.
