Mixed emotions

I anticipate the day
When you'll respect me like you should,
I contemplate as I wait
Because I know you never could.
You knew how many times I've been shattered,
Was it not you-who made me break
But those torn little pieces of me
Were never yours to take.
Forgive me-I didn't mean to
Let you believe that I was decieved
And thank-you for being an idiot
Or else my heart would never have been retrieved.
Another chapter in my life
To me is all you are
A mistake that I have learned from
That has gotten me this far.
